Advanced Wastewater Engineering is an all-inclusive septic provider, specializing in the difficult lots that require more in-depth knowledge and site evaluation. We can assist the owner/developer through the evaluation process with the Panhandle Health District often with a better outcome by having an informed advocate on your side. In some cases, even reversing the “non-buildable” status of a property, and sometimes providing alternatives for more cost effective and pleasing results.
We provide engineered septic systems for commercial, community and residential use, and design and install standard, nonstandard, and experimental systems. Our approach is one that is tailored to your needs. In most cases, you can do as little or as much of the project as you see fit.
Many factors are considered when selecting the best system to meet your needs. Such factors include site conditions, area availability, soil type (e.g., clay, rock, sand), steepness of slope, depth to ground water, setbacks to prominent site features (e.g., creeks, banks, wells, property lines), size and shape of the lot, any existing development and future building plans.
Some of the many systems we offer assistance with are Mound, Drip Distribution, Steep Slope, Standard, Infiltrators, Pressure Distribution, Sand Filters, Aerobic Treatment Units, (Lagoon) Evapotranspiration, and Capping Fill. We also work with any other systems supported by the Panhandle Health District.
Mound System: Often used for high ground water and shallow soils. These consist of pressurized line and perforated pipe and placed on 12” of sand then covered with soil. Drip Distribution System: Used for sloping sites of less than 20% also having high ground water and shallow soils. New Technology always used in conjunction with an ATU. Steep Slope System: For wooded or open areas with slopes greater than 20%. Standard or pressurized systems are used at deeper depths. Standard System: Usually the least expensive, and typically used with septic tanks. Commonly used over the aquifer. Infiltrator System: A cost effective means of replacing rock on standard or pressure distributed systems. Pressure Distribution System (PD): Extends the life of a system and varies in use. Pressurized lines and perforated pipe are placed in shallow or standard trenches. Sand Filter: The most expensive long or short term pre-treatment system that also requires the most space. This system will remove up to 90% organics. Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU): ATU’s usually require much less space than a sand filter and remove up to 95% of the organic material. We use a Delta Whitewater Unit as a pre-treatment with Drip and other systems to reduce the setbacks to ground water. The other positive effect of this type of unit is that the ATU treated sewage that enters the ground is much, much cleaner for the environment. Lagoon (Evapotranspiration) System: Used on large lots with impermeable soils. Alternatives do exist, and AWE is currently working to make those available through Panhandle Health and legislation. Capping Fill (Filled Land) System: Used when system depth needs to be reduced, however we feel that a mound system better serves the clients needs in the long run and is more cost effective as well. |
